Armm Seaports Authority Convenes Basulta Shipping Lines, PMOs, TMOs/MPTBs, Cargo Handling Operators

Zamboanga City, February 23, 2016.  The Regional Ports Management Authority (RPMA-ARMM), significantly for the first quarter, convened the major shipping lines and cargo handling operators primarily operating at the major ports and sub-ports within its jurisdiction in Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi Provinces (BASULTA).  The target outcome of this highlight conference is to establish strong and efficient link with shipping lines and cargo handling operators a vibrant port economic activity in the region.

 

Assistant General Manager for Operations, Al-Habson H. Antao revealed “this conference is also to create an effective cooperation and re-invent innovative strategies to push forward corporate mandate in consonance with policy on accountability, transparency and good governance.”

 

On the other hand, OIC General Manager, Ersan Imban Warad stated, “we must take into account important organizational developments in the corporate sectors and ensure rules and regulations are well-adapted to ensure sustainability considering current and future Maritime Industry conditions in the ARMM region.”

 

Primary shipping lines such as Aleson Shipping Lines, EverLines, Inc., Ibnerizam Shipping Lines and Sing Shipping Lines, including the strong partners in cargo handling operations actively engaged in the discussions and exchange of information which facilitated open-communication and renewed strong cooperation and commitments of support. Equally active in the conference were the Port Officials/Port Management Offices (PMOs) of Bongao, Jolo and Lamitan, and the Terminal Management Officials (TMOs) of Mapun, Siasi, Sibutu and Sitangkai, and the Modern Passengers Terminal Buildings (MPTBs) of Bongao and Jolo.

RPMA operates under Executive No. 2, series of 2002 executing policies, implementing port physical improvements and generating revenues over the major ports and sub-ports in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (rpma.armm.gov.ph/issuances/). ###
